Volvo Saw Record Global Sales in 2016

Volvo has set a new record in annual sales…for the third year in a row. The company sold 534,332 cars in 2016, beating their 2015 sales by 6.2 percent. According to, this number represents an 18.1 percent growth in US sales and an 11.5 percent growth in China. These are the two largest markets, and Volvo has become one of the fastest-growing brands in the States. In the US, the XC90 and XC60 made up the most of the 82,726 cars sold, and the XC90 large premium SUV saw a 125 percent growth from 2015 in total global sales. The XC60 also hit a personal best this year with a record 161,092 units sold.
