XC90 Has Solid January, Year-Over-Year Volvo Sales Up 11.9 Percent

Volvo Cars USA (VCUSA) started the year off on the right foot, with a double digit increase in sales last month. Yesterday, the company announced U.S. sales of 4,244 units in January, an increase of nearly 12 percent over last year.

Leading the way was the XC90, Volvo's first model off its new $11 billion Scalable Product Architecture. The premium SUV features Volvo's new design language, as well as world-first safety technologies, and class-leading connectivity services.

“This is the seventh consecutive month of double digit growth here in the US,” said Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA. “The XC90 continues to contribute to this growth, and the industry has certainly agreed by awarding it virtually every honor including the 2016 North American Truck of the Year.”

Globally, Volvo Car Group experienced a year-over-year increase of 9.4 percent, with XC90 driving growth in all regions.
